Zoology is technically a branch of biology devoted to the study of animal kingdom, the way the species are developing and interacting between each other, and the research in this area. Zoology is also divided into separate areas of study like ornithology (which is focused on studying the origin and development of birds) mammalogy, herpetology, and many others. Animal biology is developing the methods of survey of particular organisms, but all of them are dedicated to the common questions such as origin of species and their grouping, or taxonomy. Other objectives of studying animals include the degree of their worth to a human, economic or medical, the influence of animals on ecological conditions and vice versa, and scientific research in the field of genetics. Also, animal behavior can be studied both in their habitat to observe the natural traits and in the laboratory conditions. The distribution of particular types of living organisms over different areas and their adaptation to various conditions is another object of study in zoology.
