ArchiMate: from theory to practice. ArchiMate is the globally accepted standard for Enterprise Architecture modeling. This book has a focus on the ‘core’ of ArchiMate, as well as its extensions and related concepts. After a short introduction where we position Enterprise Architecture, we firstly present a high-level overview of related work. This provides us with the basis for part I, where we explain ArchiMate in terms of what it is and how to use it. In part II we present our best practices based on our combined experience with using ArchiMate in practice in various branches, both in North America and in Europe. Last but not least, in Part III we present a fictitious, yet elaborate, case study where Brenda the Architect tackles the architecture modeling challenges at BriteLite, a lighting company. Covering such as wide spectrum, this book has useful elements for novice and expert modelers alike.
