It was the wee hours of the morning before it finally happened. In a barn, of all places. On a tiny island off the Northwest Coast of Scotland. The year was 1949, and in an old hay barn just outside the village of Barvas, a miracle was in the making. It was a miracle unlike anything anyone had ever seen on the island of Lewis, or on any other island in the Hebrides for that matter. In dramatic fashion, with astonishing results, God was about to answer the desperate prayers of a handful of church members who had been faithfully meeting in that barn for weeks pleading with God for revival to come to their village and their church. At 3:00 am, a young man stood and cried out, “God, are my hands clean? Is my heart pure?” At that moment, the earnest prayers were answered. The fire fell and brought with it a revival like none in the village had ever seen.
