Henry quickly realizes that the car is Emily's and the group gather on the riverbank awaiting the outcome. Just as they are about to give up hope, a drenched Emily appears out of a nearby woods, alive but with an amazing story to tell of barely escaping a maniacal killer.Susan and Mike's vacation is off to a harrowing start. Emily reports that she had been helping her colleague Martha in her office and had only stepped out for a moment and when she returned, found the woman's body at her desk. As she quickly took off in her car to get help, she was followed and tormented by a crazed driver causing her to plunge into the river. Luckily, she had a device that allowed her to cut through her window glass and escape. The two couples are baffled by the recent events and Susan is determined to help her friend find the person who killed her colleague and who may be still intent on killing her. Her efforts are not all appreciated by her husband but Susan is relentless and her sleuthing quickly unearths a number of viable suspects. Unfortunately, her efforts antagonize the killer who is more determined than ever to succeed at his task.
