First-Time Authors

First-Time Authors presents 64 children's magazine stories and articles that were first published pieces, often with the original artwork included. The authors share their story behind the story; how they got the idea, developed, polished, and revised it to meet an editor's needs and then achieved that all-important first sale.

The 64 first published pieces include 26 stories and 38 articles that appeared in 40 different magazines, for youngest listeners and readers, intermediate readers, and preteens and teens.
