Writing Strands (Essays on writing)

Most of the essays in this book were origionally printed as articles in homeschooling magazines, but they have been rewritten for this book on teaching writing. They are not an advertisement for Writing strands, although you might recognize some of the same philosophy in both. If you do use writing strands, know that these essays do not replace the guidance provided in Evaluating Writing, the teachers manual for writing strands. As you read through essays on writing, you'll see that the essays of general nature about teaching writing appear first, followed by ones for and about young children and ending with thoughts and information on older children who are planning to enter college soon.
