Description

Offshore Engineering contains the proceedings of the 10th International Symposium on Offshore Engineering, held in Rio de Janeiro Brazil in September 1997. The conference series was organized by the Graduate Center of Engineering of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ) brought together researchers and specialists to share ideas and experiences from work carried out in the field of Offshore Engineering. The contents consist of a collection of scientific-technical contributions by engineers and researchers from private and state companies and industries, research institutions and universities from different parts of the world. They illustrate advances in offshore and ocean engineering problems, encompassing theoretical, computational, experimental and practical points of view, many of them addressing deep water (at depths of greather than 1000 meters) systems. Structural dynamics and control, hydrodynamics and fatigue, underwater robotics, reservoir and well simulations, and reliability problems were all covered, with a great deal of attention given to the latter.
