Physics: An Integrated Approach provides a modern introduction to introductory physics. Based on years of research in the cognitive science of learning and science education research, this book features summaries at the beginning of each unit, detailed descriptions of each important concept and equation and a focus on integrating topics throughout the course. Volume I of Physics focuses on modern mechanics in including the conservation of energy and momentum as well as Newton's three laws of motion. Throughout the text, mechanical topics are introduced first in their relativistic forms showing how the common classical ideas of kinetic energy and momentum are low speed limits of the general theory. Physics ends with three units dedicated to a description of static fluids, dynamics fluids and real fluids.
