The Problems of Philosophy
Book details
Summary
Description
The Problems of Philosophy is a guide to the stumbling blocks of philosophy as described by Bertram Russell. Russell suggests that the history of philosophy is a series of repeated (failed) attempts to answer the same questions. In this work Russell lays down a foundation for philosophical inquiry and introduces theories from Plato, Socrates, Descartes, Hume, Locke, Kant, Hegel and other important historical thinkers. Bertrand Russell was a 20th century British intellectual who extensively studied and wrote on the subjects of mathematics, logic, history and philosophy. He was born into one of Great Britain’s most prominent aristocratic families. In 1950, Russell was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his outspoken writing championing freedom of thought, and humanitarian ideals.
