Vincent Van Gogh is one of the world's most well-known and revered artists - few people in the Western world have not heard his name and most will recognise his face from one of his many self-portraits or the numerous artistic representations of him on screen. His red beard, prominent cheekbones and expressive eyes make him a face that few can forget.
