Zoltan’s Vision, Perception, and Cognition: Evaluation and Treatment of the Adult with Acquired Brain Injury

"This book provides comprehensive coverage of occupational therapy perspectives on vision and cognitive evaluation and treatment after acquired brain injury (ABI). It is intended to be an accessible, foundational textbook for students in entry-level occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs while also serving as a resource for those clinicians already in practice who wish to expand their knowledge in this area. We begin with a discussion of teams and health care teams in general and, more specifically, the members of the specialized neurorehabilitation teams that address vision and cognitive dysfunction after ABI. The next chapter presents an overview of how the visual system works followed by a chapter describing the assessment and treatment of visual dysfunction after ABI from occupational therapy perspectives. The next two chapters focus on visual perception and inattention. The following four chapters provide an overview of the cognitive system (including the types of cognitive skills and their neurological basis) and describe the assessment and treatment of cognitive dysfunction after ABI from an occupational therapy perspective. The final chapter describes the use of technology in supporting everyday function for those with visual and/or cognitive impairments after ABI"--
