Summary
Description
Why do so many students struggle in their General Chemistry class? There are two common recurring problems. First, they often don't learn important terminology with the degree of precision that is required. Whenever a new term is introduced, you need to thoroughly understand the meaning of the term and make it a part of your scientific vocabularly so that you can apply it in various contexts. To assist the student in learning the appropriate vocabulary, at the end of each chapter is a summary of the important concepts and terms introduced in that chapter. A second source of difficulty faced by students arises when they don't develop the problem-solving and critical-thinking skills they need in order to succeed. To help students improve their problem-solving ability, this textbook presents several sections within each chapter entitled, " Problem Solver." These sections focus on important skills students must master, and include practice problems associated with the problem-solving skill.
