Discourses on the Return to Zion and Jewish Destiny (Yiddish Edition)

Yiddish was for many years the primary medium in which Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik gave his shiurim and discourses. is volume consists of discourses and addresses that Rav Soloveitchik delivered in Yiddish at conferences of Mizrachi – Hapoel Hamizrachi Religious Zionists of America, between the 1940s and 1960s. Included are ten discourses that have been transcribed from the Rav’s handwritten manuscript, and which are published in their original language for the ‑rst time, under the editorial supervision of David E. Fishman. Of particular interest are the addresses from the fateful years between the Holocaust and the establishment of the State of Israel. e volume also includes a reprint of the original Yiddish version of Rav Soloveitchik’s “Five Addresses”, which have become canonical texts of religious Zionism.
