The land of Nor is enjoying its Golden Age when The Lumenar, a sacred charm used to subdue the last and most terrible of the dragons, is tragically broken. One man, Cavalrous, son of Cavalric of the cavaliers, is entrusted by fate to journey to the elves to seek their assistance in mending the splintered stone. But his journey is full of dangers-witches and ghouls, demons and trolls, ogres, and other strange and unexpected creatures. But these dangers-and even the livelihood of his homeland-are not all that concerns this cavalier, who finds himself torn between his love for the Princess Allitha and the other maidens he meets along the way. Before his journey ends, Cavalrous tastes the beauty and splendor of faraway, enchanted lands and receives a most unusual boon from the elves ... But is he prepared to face The Dragon?
