Description
John Trotwood Moore (1858-1929) was one of Tennessee’s finest writers, a historian, and publisher of Trotwood's Monthly magazine. He served as Director of Libraries, Archives and History for the State of Tennessee. Moore, born in Alabama, spent his adult life in Middle Tennessee, particularly in Columbia and Nashville. This was Moore's first book, containing the famous race horse story Ole Mistis and the first appearance of Uncle Wash.
