Gendered (in)justice: Theory And Practice In Feminist Criminology

The number of women in prison and in jails continues to rise dramatically. The editors of Gendered (In)Justice have compiled articles that provide readers with the intellectual tools to understand and to critique the contributions of feminist thinking to criminology. Following the editors’ introduction, fifteen carefully chosen pieces written by criminologists explore how feminist thought has developed in the field, how feminist criminology has influenced research on women offenders and the crimes they commit, laws and policies affecting women offenders, and programming for women offenders. The articles in this collection offer students a broader understanding of female criminality that includes the economic, social, and political realities of women offenders.
