History: Hands On: Moon Walk

What could be more exciting than learning about men walking on the moon? How about experiencing it for yourself?

This exciting new series is designed not only to bring history to life for your students, these activities actually bring history into your classroom!

Obviously your students can't actually walk on the moon, but you can involve them in fun, educational activities that will make them feel like they've been with the astronauts to the moon and back. In this study children will make their own satellites, experience a rocket launch through an action rhyme, make a classroom spacecraft, eat astronaut food and make a model of the Earth. They'll learn more about the Earth and its place in the solar system, and they'll understand some of the challenges of space travel. The "spaced out" class party at the end of this study will allow students to review and share what they've learned.
