Summary
Description
The purpose of this manual is to help you get the best value from your vehicle. It can do so in several ways. It can help you decide what work must be done, even if you choose to have it done by a dealer service department or a repair shop; it provides information and procedures for routine maintenance and servicing; and it offers diagnostic and repair procedures to follow when trouble occurs. General Motors introduced the N-car line in 1985 with the Buick Somerset, the Oldsmobile Calais and the Pontiac Grand Am. In 1986, the Buick Division of General Motors added a second model to the N-car line by redesigning their popular Skylark, adding the N-car chassis. Buick discontinued the Somerset after the 1987 model year. These models are available in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan body styles featuring coil spring suspension and front wheel drive. In 1992 the Oldsmobile Calais was replaced by the more stylish and aerodynamic Achieva. Both the Buick Skylark and the Pontiac Grand Am received new interior design and more aerodynamic body styling in 1992.
