Description

When Marlow woke up on the morning of The Choosing she never could have predicted that before the sun set she would go from a peasant, to the most powerful person in the Kingdom, to a rebel on the run. Marlow and her father live in a two-room shanty in the small village of Pine Brook on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Anariel. On the day of The Choosing, the entire Kingdom gathers to crown the new Queen, who is believed to control the elemental magic in the land. To the shock of the High Priest, and the Grand Prince, Marlow finds herself being crowned the next Queen of Anariel. The same night she is crowned, Marlow survives an attempt on her life and ends up on the run, leaving behind the palace and Pine Brook, the only home she has over known. The rogue Queen seeks refuge in a rebel camp known as the Wolf's Den. Scorned by the rebels for being a "weak" Queen, and exiled from the Kingdom for being a "murderer", Marlow fits in nowhere. She must find a way to master the four elements of magic in order to return to the palace to save the Kingdom from the Grand Prince, who seeks to drain every last ounce of magic from the land.
