From the Preface: "The purpose of this work is quite simple: to provide a general overview of the New Testament from a biblical theological perspective. A biblical theology is not a special kind of theology that is uniquely biblical, but rather is an approach of reading the Bible from a redemptive-historical angle... A biblical theology of the New Testament ought to trace an important theme from beginning to end to see how it is introduced at the beginning and later unpacked at the end. That is what I have sought to do in this work, tracing the doctrine of the person and work of Jesus Christ and how the epistles apply His life to ours.
