Six Stories Of Other Worlds
Book details
Summary
Description
This volume contains 6 short stories, of science fiction and dystopian worlds, written by prolific British writter George Griffith, who wrote at the end of the 19th century, and was ahead of this time. Maybe, his futuristic visions inspired his son, Allan Griffith, to invent the Rolls-Royce Avon jet engine (true story!) Griffith's epic fantasies of romantic utopians in a future world of war, dominated by airship battle fleets, and grandiose engineering provided a template for steampunk novels a century before the term was coined. His most popular stories, though, are the "Stories of Other Worlds", The Space Adventures of Rollo Lenox Smeaton Aubrey, Earl of Redgrave, and his bride Lilla Zaidie, included in this volume. The Angel of the Revolution is, however, considered his best work. The following are the novels and short stories featured: "STORIES OF OTHER WORLDS" SERIES BOOK ONE. SIX STORIES OF OTHER WORLDS 1. A VISIT TO THE MOON. 2. THE WORLD OF THE WAR GOD 3. A GLIMPSE OF THE SINLESS STAR 4. THE WORLD OF THE CRYSTAL CITIES 5. IN SATURN'S REALM 6. HOMEWARD BOUND
