We Don't Go Far but We Do See Life (Volume 1)

This is the first in a series of books that follow the travels of the Dutch barge Saul Trader on voyages through the canals of Europe. We journey from England to Belgium and Holland through the centre of France to the Southern extremities of the extensive French canal system. We do not go into too much detail of the history or architecture of the places we pass – there are many other books that cover these aspects in detail. These are stories and anecdotes about the people that we meet along the way, and the amusing and sometimes frightening incidents that occur during our journeys. As my friend Mick Newton would often remark- “We don’t go far ………. but we do see life.”
