She witnessed the murder of her boyfriend in Las Vegas and now Charlene DuBois has to disappear. But the drug dealer who killed him wants the money she took and he wants her dead as well. Desperate and with nowhere to turn, she contacts a man she met only once and ends up in a sleepy, rural corner of North Carolina and in the middle of a family that will test her resolve.
