In the Pines: True Stories

This is a collection of 15 stories written when Wes was a young newspaper reporter for the Longview News-Journal (plus one personal essay about raising chickens, goats and turkeys in his mom's backyard). Topics include Bigfoot, ghost hunters, backyard wrestlers, one snake doctor, a guy who nearly died when he dropped his Dr Pepper bottle cap, Caddo Lake, wayward emus, and rambling around East Texas in an old Jeep. There is not much reason for this book to exist in the world, except that Wes was bored one day in 2010 and wanted to learn how to publish his own stuff, so he plucked his favorites out of the newspaper archive, and here they are.
