Description
It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This The "It" referred to above is a way of life, the everyday experiences, the personal friendships, the camaraderie, the lands and the animals that are all part of ranch life. The stories are an attempt to reflect this in a somewhat humorous way, even though there was very little funny about them at the time. All of the stories are based on the truth, but as I tell everyone who asks, they are somewhat enhanced. In one conversation about them a reader asked, "So, you didn't actually hit that cow with a rock?" referring to "The Greatest Pitch I ever Threw". I said "Yes, I hit the cow, but I exaggerated when I wrote that there were 200 cows staring at me wondering what I was doing." I have enjoyed writing about these incidents. What occurred to me as I was going through them was how family and friends played such an important role. By taking the time to recall the details of the stories, I was able to savor and, to a certain extent, preserve these cherished memories. For this I am truly grateful.
