Description
If you enjoy adventure, strong female characters, psychological undertones, crazy love, mystery, plot twists, good versus evil, and hate, surprise, and admiration, you will love this book. THE MISSIVE tells the story of what happens when two people agree to help their mutual friend rescue her younger sister who she believes has been kidnapped. Bringing in the main character from my first novel, THE MEETING, Karen Moss once again finds herself in the middle of a dangerous and sinister plot. Karen Moss receives a message from her friend, Lotta Hernandez, asking her to help her find her sister, a troubled young woman who she has taken care of since the death of their mother. Always in jeopardy, she fears this time she is in grave danger. Scared and hiding in a hotel room in Hilton Head, South Carolina, after being accosted by two men, Lotta has had no word from her sister for three days. Karen agrees to help and is joined by Reggie Warner who volunteers to fly Karen from Arlington, Virginia to Hilton Head to meet Lotta. The three eventually track the sister and two other women to southern Mexico where they find the girls have been kidnapped and are to be sacrificed in a bizarre ceremony by a cult whose high priestess believes she is about to become a goddess. This priestess, called Xonanti by her loyal followers, is aided in every way by Nevan Raygoza, the leader of a drug cartel who has been enchanted by her for two years. Karen, Reggie, and Lotta battle against the cartel and the cult. Not knowing who to trust, they must rescue the women before it is too late. Karen, on leave from the FBI, is brave, fearless, and determined. Nevan, a ruthless despot, is now doubted by his men and about to lose everything. Xonanti is beautiful, intelligent, and charismatic, but lonely damaged, and psychotic. This book is thrilling and fast moving, and always captivating.
