Description

This is a true account of the forty-two years I served in law enforcement for the United States government. My life has been full of Close Calls and I believe the Blessings of God have saved me and allowed me to write this book and share my story. I have included a little about growing up in a south central barrio near Mexico, my time in the U.S. Navy and Vietnam, and my determined efforts to secure a career in law enforcement. I have also mentioned my family life throughout my career - the part that makes all we do worth the effort. I have included documented information to keep the reader well-informed, and I have also included my conclusions about controversial subjects such as marijuana legislation and the involvement of the CIA in drug trafficking. Here is a quote from page 132 in the book describing one of my Close Calls:“The RAC (Resident Agent-in-Charge) and a senior agent went inside the (Jalisco State) Police Headquarters while four of us remained in the parking lot. We only carried handguns for our defense. . . About an hour and forty-five minutes passed before the senior agent came out to confirm that both the missing agent and an informant were inside in the custody of the State Police. He told us both had been severely beaten. . .Almost immediately, several uniformed police officers carrying machine guns exited the building and started to walk towards us. . .” CLOSE CALLS and BLESSINGS, page 132.
