The National Cancer Institute estimates that as many as one in every seven African-American men and one in every eight Caucasians men will deal with prostate cancer in their lifetime. So why aren?t more men talking about it?
A survivor of prostate cancer, author Patrick Walsh thinks he knows the answer: fear and ignorance. Walsh takes aim at these mind-sets by telling the story of his journey from denial, to diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and a wonderful life and he has the smile on his face to prove it.
With a sense of humor and grace, Walsh candidly shares his experiences, with the hope of shedding light on this disease that threatens the health of men all over the world.
Walsh is a dedicated husband, and a father to three grown children. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010, and survived a year-long battle with the disease. Cancer free since 2011, Pat has been inspired to share his experiences and raise awareness of this life-threatening disease.
