Description

The Captives Free Spouse's Guide is a 21-assignment recovery workbook for spouses of men or women battling sexual addiction. The Captives Free Spouse's Guide is a biblically-based, time-tested, effective tool in assisting spouses to recover from their partner’s sexual addiction – whether the addict is in recovery or not. This workbook is not for women dealing with sexual addiction. This workbook will introduce a new way of looking at recovery and transformation in our lives. While the workbook is easy enough to follow alone, it is highly recommended that it be used in conjunction with a Captives Free support group. By participating in a group, one enters a safe-environment of others on the same journey creating a support structure. The Captives Free Spouse's Guide was edited by Dr. Mark Laaser, the foremost Christian authority on sexual addiction recovery and Debbie, his wife, an experienced spouse of a recovering addict. Melissa Haas facilitates weekly spouse’s groups for women whose husbands struggle with sexual addiction and directs all women’s ministries for HopeQuest. Melissa began her ministry career as a missionary with the International Mission Board in Kenya where she and her husband Troy served for six years. Their departure from the mission field marked the beginning of a journey of healing and restoration that has become a living testimony to the grace and power of God. Since 2002, Melissa has been sharing her story and walking with other women on the journey of grace and truth. Melissa graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in Education.
