He arrived in the United States in 1986 and immediately began studying with California artists such as Wayne Thiedbaud, Manuel Neri, Roland Peterson, Jack Ogden and Fred Dalkey. With Oliver Jackson as his advisor, Jian received a Masters Degree in Art from California State University, Sacramento, in 1994. Today, Jian Wang is a celebrated contemporary artist whose artwork fuses creative ability with contemporary sensibility. Jian Wang has had more than 50 solo exhibitions in cities throughout the United States, and his work is in public and private collections throughout the world.
