Growing Up in Houston 2008-2010 Assessing The Quality of Life of Our Children

Growing Up in Houston, first published in 1994, is the foundation of CHILDREN AT RISK's efforts to improve the quality of life for our youth in Greater Houston. By tracking key data, critical issues, and current trends that impact our children every single day, we learn more about the full spectrum of their needs and challenges -- from economic necessities and healthcare, to education and safety. CHILDREN AT RISK has developed a model of 130 quality of life indicators that delineate how children are doing in Houston and Harris County. We have used this model as a tool for the last 14 years. Data for the indicators is used to measure the progress the community is making in the well-being of its children.
