The first chapters teach the basics such as anatomy and patient care. The middle chapters are on anatomy and physiology which comprises 50% of the Science exam. The last chapters cover pathology, which was recently added to the Science exam matrix. The CV Science Exam tests your fundamental knowledge. It is chiefly an exam of recall (75% level I). This means that there are few reasoning or interpretation questions. There are math calculations but many formulas are given to you with the question. Simply solve the equation and plug in the required numbers. The essential formulas are listed in the book appendix.

RN’s, RT(R)’s and CAAHEP approved CVT graduates can take CCI's registry exams for Cath (RCIS), Echo (RCS), and Vascular (RVS) immediately, if currently working in the field. They can skip this exam. However, most other technician candidates must pass two exams - the CV Science exam for which this book prepares you and your specialty registry exam.
