Description

KENNEDY RIPPLES tells the true story of a young Dallas housewife caught in an abusive marriage, who falls madly in love with her parish priest, Fr. Walter Machann. She pursues him obsessively with seductive love notes, midnight calls and forbidden visits to his saintly quarters, shattering his protected world. As director of President Kennedy's Catholic Cuban Relocation Program, Fr. Machann enlists Ms. Sullivan as a volunteer to be close, fueling his hidden desires. Her provocative ways finally bring him to his knees on a dark April night in that fateful year of 1963, a rendezvous that would change their lives forever. A flaxen-haired nymphomaniac, Silvia Odio, arrives mysteriously from Cuba to join the Relocation program and works openly to seduce the priests already frail being. Her interest in Fr. Machann becomes a mystery to all and a stabbing thrust into Mariannes' already pained heart. Silvia would later testify in the Warren Commission Report that the priest was her "Father confessor" but would deny any involvement, while at the same time declaring that two men and Oswald had visited her on a dark Dallas night stating inordinately that Oswald had the guts to kill Kennedy. Six weeks before the 1963 assassination, the very popular Fr. Walter J. Machann mysteriously disappears. The church denies knowing anything. Weeks later he is located in Parkland Hospital's psychiatric ward. Heavily medicated and ill, he is released to his mother's care one week prior to the assassination. Four days after JFK's death the devastating call from his anguished, aging mother tears through Marianne's heart , "THEY came and got him Marianne...he told me as he left, "I am no longer your son and you are not my mother." A small post card arrives one week later addressed in shaky writing, Marianne, Don't look back, you must never see me again, signed, Walter. In the years following the assassination Marianne's search for the priest leads her through a gritty world of sordid intrigue filled with a rogue's gallery of characters straight out of the Warren Report as the layers of mystery slowly unravel.
