Description

Nineteen floorplans for working shops are illustrated in this book. The assortment of shops includes galleries, frame shops, frame shops with galleries and galleries that offer framing. The plans include old houses, shops located in new and old shopping centers and odd shaped buildings. Many unique spaces are illustrated, such as a small shop of 400 square feet, a 2,232 square foot brownstone on 3 floors, and a 4,000 square foot shop made from two adjoining stores. Included are illustrations of worktables and storage units for art, moulding, matboards, and supplies. To design a layout for your own shop, use the grid sheet provided, along with the patterns for equipment, worktables, counters and displays. Duplicate the grid and patterns on a photocopy machine, then cut out the pattern pieces and begin arranging and rearranging them on the grid. Or scan the grid and patterns into a computer and design your layout on the computer screen.
