Pilgrim Theology: Taking the Path of Theological Discovery

I intend this book to serve, along with books like Helmut Thielicke's A Little Exercise for Young Theologians, as a preface or companion to the study of Christian doctrine. But, whereas a book like Thielicke's is designed to introduce young theologians to themselves and to the spiritual dangers that attach to the academic study of belief, this book is designed to help them learn how to theologize and (what is the same thing) how to recognize and oppose nonsense in all its forms. I consider this attempt successful only insofar as it opens the door to truth, to beauty, and to goodness. These three are, as it were, the vestibule, or the portraits to the Divine Precincts.
