Short Stories on Photography: The Joseph and Elaine Monsen Collection at the Henry Art Gallery

The Henry Art Gallery at the U. of Washington sponsors Short Stories exhibitions, each of which selects from the magnificent depths of the Monsen Collection to present photos illuminating a theme. Produced to commemorate the Gallery's 75th anniversary and also to accompany several such 2001-2002 exhibitions, this book tells four stories: Presence and Loss Views of New York; Worn Social Roles Revealed; Imaging the Orient; and The Photographic Impulse (this is by far the biggest of the exhibitions).
