Description

Published in conjunction with an exhibition held at Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington, Seattle (July–September 1990), Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (October–December 1990), and State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow (February–August 1991).
This was the first comprehensive exhibition of Constructivism drawn from Soviet and Western collections, and was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of the U.S.S.R. and the Henry Art Gallery in association with the Walker Art Center.
This volume brings forward the most recent research from Soviet, European, and American scholars. The introduction and seven essays provide an overview of Russian Constructivism and consider its resonance in non-Soviet art history up to the present day.
