History for a Pilgrim People: The Historical Writings of Charles G. Dennison
Book details
Summary
Description
Charlie Dennison was not a trained, professional historian when appointed to that role by the General Assembly of the OPC in 1981. Instead, he was a pastor-churchman-theologian who loved church history, and who believed that the triune God had been gracious to that "expression of the visible body of Christ" which we call the OPC. He held the deep conviction that God had done – and was continuing to do – wonderful things in the OPC. With this conviction, and with unbridled enthusiasm and unparalleled dedication, he labored to explain to the OPC its proper historical context, so that she might better understand her relationship to her Lord and be equipped to serve Him from the heart.
This collection of essays reflects this commitment and his labors.
