Surgery of the Peripheral Nerve
Book details
Summary
Description
Mackinnon and Dellon (plastic surgery, Toronto and Johns Hopkins) presents one approach to the management of peripheral nerve injuries. This approach is systematic, and encompasses the current concept of neural function, including the response to injury and nerve regeneration and clinical manifestations. The unique modifications of this response will be determined by the individual peripheral nerves and their unique sensory and motor components. This systematic approach includes the techniques for evaluting sensibility and motor function, thereby diagnosing the peripheral nerve injury and includes both nonoperative and operative modes of treatment for the nerve injury. The system presented diverges in many ways from traditional surgical teaching. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
