Engage (Shared Foundations)

Examine Engage through the learning cycle of the Shared Foundations in AASL's National School Library Standards. Part of a six-book series on the Shared Foundations, Engage presents opportunities to see collection development and resources in new ways, moving learners' journey with the AASL Standards beyond the school walls as school librarians model and teach ethical academic behavior. Engage offers school librarians opportunities to

• model and foster dispositions that allow learners to participate ethically and respectfully in communities of practice;
• produce materials based on valid information;
• act ethically and responsibility in their sharing of information; and
• extend learning by personalizing their use of information.
