Book details
Summary
Description
This second volume devoted to the music of Leopold Godowsky (1870-1938), concentrates on his celebrated transcriptions and arrangements of the music of Schubert and Bach, and his cadenzas for the Mozart Piano Concertos. Of particular interest to pianists, the volume contains twelve of Godowsky's delightful arrangements for solo piano of famous Schubert songs, including: Wohin?, Gute Nacht, Litanei, An Mignon and Ungeduld.
Also in this book are Godowsky's challenging piano versions of three of the solo violin sonatas and three of the cello sonatas of J.S. Bach. The Mozart Concerto cadenzas included are for K.365, K.488 and K.491. As with Volume One, the fascinating and extensive notes are by noted Godowsky scholar, Dr. Millan Sachania.
