Painting (Young Artist)

Produced in association with the Royal Academy of Arts, "Painting" is a guide that aims to build children's confidence in their ability to work with paints. Every spread tackles a different theme and suggests various ways for young painters to try out new skills. The book also puts the practical side of painting into a wider context with examples of classic works of art. In this way it introduces youngsters to the tremendous variety of art styles that have flourished in the past. Specially commissioned photographs are included to inspire and encourage young artists to develop their own ideas. All featured works of art introduce fun, practical activities that use new techniques, skills and materials. Close-up, colour photographs complement simple instructions on each creative skill or technique.
