Description
Science in a Technical World is a interdisciplinary unit (small book)-based curriculum for high school (grades 9 through 12), developed by the Education Division of the American Chemical Society, with support from the National Science Foundation. The units can be used as the primary material for a tech prep course, or as a supplement to a standard basal chemistry, biology, earth science, or physics textbook. The program is also appropriate for two-year vocational/technical schools.
THE PROGRAM
Science in a Technical World takes a "hands-on, minds-on" approach, with students investigating an industry-based problems faced by science technicians in a typical work day. Each unit involves students in the solution of a science technology-related problem that might actually occur. Forensic Science looks at the question: How can forensic tests on physical evidence help to solve a crime?
