Description

When, on July 2, 2006, Greg Williams lost his 2 ½ year old granddaughter, Reagan Emery Williams, a victim of child abuse, he faced a choice: despair or action. Vowing that his “Sunshine” would be not just another statistic but, instead, a cause, Greg and his wife Marsha, along with Reagan's maternal grandparents, created Reagan's Rescue to raise awareness of Shaken Baby Syndrome (Abusive Head Trauma). The tangible effects of their advocacy and outreach and the progress Reagan's Rescue has made have left an impression locally, statewide, and even on the national and international levels. Before that terrible Sunday afternoon in July, Greg had kept a journal for Reagan, to be given to her on her 18th birthday. After her death, he continued to write to her. In these pages, he shares his journey, from initial shock and often debilitating grief to a search for knowledge, wisdom, peace, and purpose, all to perpetuate Reagan’s memory and her legacy and to bring hope to others who are just beginning their own journeys.
