Description

"Max and Millie" is a two-level course, comprising two playbooks and two teacher's guides, one song cassette and one set of 70 flashcards. With the help of Max and Millie, two friendly monsters, children learn to say and understand useful language items, as well as to recognize words. The course is designed to be flexible. Each playbook is divided into 20 units that can be futher split into smaller sections for shorter lessons: optional activities can be added for longer lesson / course lengths. Also, the course can be used to study either American or British English. The playbooks have few words and no controversial spellings; the songs on the cassette are mid-Atlantic. Book work in the course constitutes from five to ten minutes of each lesson; the balance of the time is spent on songs, games, flashcard work and other activities. Activities include such things as cut-and-past, colouring and connect-the-dots as well as games and songs. The teacher resource materials include one song cassette and 70 flashcards; the teacher's guides include suggestions for extra activities, including art projects.
