Description

The LogicAidÖ program and SimUaidÖ logic simulator provides students with easy-to-use computational tools that assist in learning logic design concepts. Designed explicitly for use in academics, LogicAid allows students to solve larger, more practical design problems than they could by hand. Its functions include simplification of Boolean functions specified as equations, terms, truth tables, PLA tables, or Karnaugh maps. These tasks are aided by an interface that relies on the use of dialog boxes, windows, and menus to simplify user input and output. The package also provides tutorial aids on how to derive equations from Karnaugh maps and how to construct state tables and graphs. Although originally written for use with FUNDAMENTALS OF LOGIC DESIGN, 4th Ed, it can be used with any logic design textbook. The new edition of LogicAid includes SimUaid, a package that allows one to simulate logic networks. SimUaid allows students to input a logic diagram through a menu of parts such as gates, flip-flops, registers, adders, and other basic logic components. The user-friendly interface allows students to enter a logic schematic, apply inputs, and observe signals and waveforms. After inputting the diagram, students can simulate its operation by applying 0's and 1's to the input terminals and observe the network outputs on the screen.
