Manual of European Environmental Law

This manual provides a detailed overview of the complex and distinct body of European environmental law. Part One discusses the history, basic concepts, institutions and legal techniques of environmental protection in Europe. Part Two provides a detailed analysis of each environmental sector: biodiversity, soil, freshwaters, marine waters and air. Part Three presents trans-sectoral problems such as control of hazardous products and processes, wastes and other sources of global environmental harm; integrated environmental protection, including urban and rural land use rules and finally the role of the public and non-governmental organizations in combating environmental harm.
