Endometrial Ablation

Abnormal menstruation is a common gynaecological complaint and until recently, hysterectomy has been the only solution. Since the 1970s, the hysteroscopic techniques of endometrial destruction have been developed and the operation of endometrial ablation and electroresection is now widely used throughout the Western world. There are still unanswered questions in relation to technique, dangers, risks and long-term results, but this international group of experts have set out to provide a comprehensive review of these problems, with comments as to future develoments in this rapidly expanding field, and a chapter of safety and training.
