Description

These resources for GNVQ science have been developed by the "Nuffield Science in Practice" project to meet the requirements of all the awarding bodies. The project has forged contacts with industry, medicine and other sectors where people use science in their work to ensure the authentic vocational contexts and approaches required for GNVQ. The project was set up in 1992 to develop new ways of teaching vocational science based on active learning. It has worked to produce material in close collaboration with pilot schools and colleges, so the finished materials can meet the needs of students and staff following the courses. This student book contains case studies which are developed in genuine vocational contexts to meet GNVQ requirements and to give students plenty of practice in exploring the real applications of science.
