First Book of C++: From Here to There

This text follows the highly successful applications approach taken in A First Book of C, also by Gary Bronson. It teaches object-oriented programming in C++ by beginning with procedural (standard) programming using C and gradually introducing object-oriented ideas and the language syntax that allows the programmer to use them. Much of the popularity of C++ derives from its object-oriented features; however, programmers must first get "from here to there." Bronson's approach eases the transition. The text features many carefully developed program examples, exercises after each section, and the common programming error sections.
